SPOTLIGHT ON BTRMC MEMBER VIVIAN PAGOULATOS
I am honored to serve as Vice President on the Board of Trustees for the Bernards Township Library. My fondest memories as a child were visits to the library. The importance of literacy was instilled by my grandmother who, as the eldest daughter had to raise her 10 siblings, and was unable to finish her education. She never let that hold her back and still learned to read her native Greek and some English.
Our Bernards Township Library makes me so excited and proud . My expertise in marketing and education – and my love of literature – provides a foundation for my work on the Board of Trustees. One of my first acts when I moved to Basking Ridge was to obtain a library card. Although I volunteer for many organizations (FDU College of Pharmacy Advisory Board, my church’s philanthropic arm and state organizations, like Mom2Mom, Community FoodBank of NJ, the library Board is closest to my heart.
Bernards Township Library has an excellent collection of physical books and can get you additional titles from other libraries. Books and materials can be ordered online and picked up after an email or text alert. We offer programs on the latest apps and ways to use your devices to take full advantage of the plethora of digital content now available through the Library:
Free access to Consumer Reports and other popular eMagazines
Free access to digital content and streaming services using Kanopy, Hoopla, cloudLibrary, Tumble Books for kids, etc
I wish everyone in town would share my love for libraries. Membership is free and we have phenomenal programs for all ages: teen programs on coding, age-appropriate story times for kids (toddlers through ‘tweens), parenting workshops, poetry seminars, adult education programs – you name it!
