REPUBLICANS SELECT GARY BAUMANN AND TYLER SEVILLE AS CANDIDATES FOR BERNARDS TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE

Basking Ridge, NJ – On February 28, 2023 the Bernards Township Republican Municipal Committee selected Gary Baumann and Tyler Seville as their candidates for the 2023 Township Committee election. Gary and Tyler are fiscal conservatives who believe in limited, but compassionate government dedicated to preserving the exceptional quality of life that Bernards Township is well-known for.

Candidate Gary Baumann remarked that “Bernards Township is a special place, and we are all fortunate to live and raise our families here. I will work tirelessly to ensure we continue on our fiscally conservative path which has been the trademark of Republican leadership at the Township Committee level. We will oppose overdevelopment, keep Bernards 100% debt-free, support our dedicated first responders, and focus on community engagement and reaching out to all residents of Bernards Township.”

Candidate Tyler Seville noted “We look forward to listening and engaging in constructive dialogue in representing all Bernards residents. This will serve to strengthen our unity and sense of community.” Candidates Baumann and Seville intend to be strong supporters of the “Fabric of Bernards” series of presentations designed to educate and celebrate Bernard Township’s rich diversity, recognizing that “every resident is a thread woven together into the strong and unique fabric of Bernards.” Gary Baumann stated “We will also promote and be strong advocates for participation in the ‘Tap the Talent’ program whereby residents can volunteer for the good of the community in a host of ways by serving on various boards and commissions.” Candidate Tyler Seville noted, “We understand that communication and collaboration are key to building trust, engagement and unity.”

Candidates Baumann and Seville oppose destructive overdevelopment and unfair government housing mandates that negatively affect quality of life and adversely impact our schools, traffic, services and finances. They believe we should not allow the courts, who are not elected representatives, to decide how our local zoning laws should be applied.

Keeping Bernards safe will be among the candidates’ highest priorities. Bernards is among the safest towns in New Jersey and indeed in the entire United States. This is a testament to the men and women in blue, as well as all our first responders, who tirelessly serve our community. “We will always support our police and first responders to maintain the excellence they deliver for the residents of our great town. We can’t have a great community without public safety” stated Seville.

Gary and Tyler intend to apply their expertise, drive, dedication and knowledge to continue the Republican stewardship of safety, low taxes, responsible spending, smart growth and outstanding quality of life that is the foundation of Bernards’ success. “We are dedicated to serve Bernards’ needs and those of its residents” stated candidate Baumann. “We will work hard to gain every voter’s support and look forward to victory in November”, added candidate Seville.

Gary Baumann is Chief Executive Officer of ARCTRUST Properties Inc., a real estate investment and advisory firm. He and his wife, Lisamarie, and their teenage sons Andrew and Alex, live in the Highland Farms section of Bernards Township. Gary is also an attorney, admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey and has practiced law at the nationally recognized firm Lowenstein Sandler, P.C. and the international construction law firm of Packar and Abramson, P.C.

Tyler Seville is Associate Director of State Public Policy at Novartis, working at the intersection of government, business and the non-profit sectors. Tyler and his wife, Juliana, and their toddler daughters, live on Lafayette Lane. Tyler graduated from Rutgers University with a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy and holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Pennsylvania. Tyler’s advocacy and public policy experience covers state and local government, education policy, health care, as well as economic and workforce development.

Bernards Township Republican Municipal Committee Chair Scott Mitzner stated that the RMC is very proud and excited to have endorsed Gary Baumann and Tyler Seville. Mitzner added, “Gary and Tyler are both exceptional candidates with the background, experience, dedication and character that will benefit all of Bernards Township as a whole. We wholeheartedly and enthusiastically endorse both Gary and Tyler!”
